Thing 13 – K12 Conference Session Reflections

July 8th, 2009

I “attended” Pushing the Limits: Web 2.0 and 21st Century Learning by Aimee Stoffel and Tanya Gray. The video chronicled their experience implementing a 2.0 program in the classroom including providing students with laptops and many learning tools. The majority of the video features the students’ work, which I have to admit is always so much fun to view. I’m constantly amazed at what students can produce when given the tools. The main point was to simply show a program in progress and to appeal for experts who might help/contribute to their efforts. I enjoyed the session although I’m not sure I learned anything “new.” That said, the student projects were inspiring and watching what they are capable of is further encouraging me to do Wiki portfolios in my English classroom.
